Learn SpanishOne way of learning Spanish which is controversial at best is by the use of mnemonic memory training.  Mnemonics can be described as using a combination of words which sound like other words and forming word pictures to commit them to memory.  You can effectively store information and pull it out of your long term memory by learning to use mnemonics as a method of learning Spanish.

The benefits of learning Spanish with mnemonics is that it stays with you over the long term.  It provides a way to collect and store then to retrieve needed information in your head quickly.

Since mnemonics is a means of focusing completely on the word that you want to learn, critics of mnemonics say that it doesn't help you toward understanding of the word.  However the fact that you are trying to remember it means that there is a need to bring it at will into the memory so that understanding can proceed.

Others who are critical of mnemonic training find it is time intensive.  This accusation is true, but if the person is doing the memory work anyway, you might as well you a method which is going to guarantee that you will remember the work which you memorized.

Probably a combination of mnemonics and other memory assisting techniques is the best method for learning Spanish at least vocabulary type words.  For instance, the initial learning and visualization of words can be selected as groups of similar words in order to make the words have a synergistic effect.  If you practice mnemonic techniques on a group of words which have ties to a beach vacation you will find that more of the words can be called back into play.

Next try to do some written exercises or question and answer type questions where nouns can be changed and revision of the rest of the sentence is edited as well. It's then important to your efforts at learning Spanish to an active mode so that you are utilizing the conversation parts with those whom you choose.  Talk with native Spanish speaking people to try to practice using the vocabulary words in a sentence so that it becomes habitual to use then in the appropriate context.

Learn SpanishIn this way, you are learning the words and strengthening your understanding of the words at the same time.  You're using different ways of identifying the concepts as well as the words and locking them into your memory.  You are picturing the words in memory, speaking them, writing them and questioning how they are used in a sentence.

It may be the combination of the efforts or it may be directing the focus on the words that makes this method very successful in memorization work. 

Depending on other duties and responsibilities, it's not hard to add 15 or 20 or even more new vocabulary words to your memory each day.  It doesn't take long at this rate to double your vocabulary. What's more the words are in your memory permanently.
